So over Thanksgiving weekend, Jess and I traveled to Nashville. The flight down was uneventful, the trip was fun, everything was going fine, until we got back to the airport. Sure enough, I run my credit card in the machine, and our name and tickets come up on the screen. So far, very normal…except that it appeared that we were booked on both a 10:25 flight and a 7:40 flight. Huh? I call over the woman at the ticket counter and she checks to make sure that the system was correct and it was.

Turns out, we found a bug in their system. If the same person is double booked on a flight, then their name will only appear once in the computer, instead of twice. That is why this wasn’t caught on the way out. I do remember booking the second ticket, and at the time thought that I had already booked a flight, but couldn’t find a confirmation. So it was my fault and not the fault of the airline.

So what happened? I got a record locater number and a full credit for both flights. I’ve had issues before with airlines, where I end up shelling out $100 per ticket to get the ticket changed, or need to talk to a manager. This was just bing, bang, boom. Money back, no hassles.

So in a time where it seems like every airline is trying to nickel and dime their customers, it’s nice to fly on one that cares about their customers.
